The New York Times Online has a review of a movie I've been hearing a lot about recently: "4 Months 3 weeks & 2 days". This artful, haunting and intimate look at one woman's illegal abortion in 1980's Romania sounds like the perfect antidote to the recent spate of American "smashmortion" films that have been leaving such a sour taste in my mouth.

I wish we could! It's still only playing in New York. Luckily, Portland is a first release heaven, along with NYC and LA, so we should be able to see it soon. I'll keep you all updated!
I just saw the trailer on YouTube. Its haunting, and now I really want to see it.
