Women of the world,
Happy International Women's Day!
If you're not employed by PWCL, you most likely had to work yesterday and/or today. We, however, get the days off to honor ourselves for being the lovely women that we are, and can I say, what a great work holiday to have.
Yesterday I managed to pencil in a bubble bath and I met some of my favorite women for happy hour. I hope that every self-identified woman has had a chance to honor herself and other women in her life over the past two days.
I have a message for the women of PWCL: I want to say thank you for being amazing, strong, intelligent advocates and activists. Whether you work in direct service or behind the scenes, I hope you know how important your work as women continues to be in this world.
Okay, that's all getting a little too sappy for me. I'll go out with a quote:
"People think, at the end of the day, that a man is the only answer to fulfillment. Actually, a job is better for me." - Princess Diana
Oh, so true.

Join Us at Portland International Women's Day
Do you often think to yourself, "I wish I could be at an event with over 2,000 people honoring women and the work they do?" Do you often want to attend women's workshops, panels, hear women musicians and speakers, and buy things from women vendors??
If so, PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY is happening THIS SUNDAY (!) at Portland State University in the Smith Center Ballroom from 2p - 8p. PWCL will be there as a community tabling partner, and our very own ED Rebecca Peatow Nickels will be on the "Womening Working for the Community Panel". Hey, I'll even be there facilitating the panel. Come check out my facilitatin' skills.
