Support your local rape culture: T-shirts on sale now at Destroy Clothing!

In the Murmurs section of this weeks Willamette Week you can find a small article about a new clothing store that recently opened at 1712 E Burnside st. Destroy Clothing is selling a t-shirt that features "a woman with her panties down, who appears to have been raped". The image is apparently from the Guns N' Roses album art Appetite for Destruction and the caption above the woman reads "Destroy Was Here". The stores owner Adam Brush commented on the t-shirt saying "it's definitely not for everybody...I can see how somebody would be offended, but it's really just a tribute to the artist". Ah, the ole "art" guise for rape culture never ceases to amaze me when speaking to sexualized violence against women.

Send Destroy a message on their myspace page at http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=25778694

Or send your 250 words or less to the Willamette week editors at mzusman@wweek.com Be sure to include your name, address and a phone number for verification.
